Urban Flowers

I stopped in Saturday morning to pick up some flowers for a brunch I was having on Sunday. The selection is great, I was very impressed by the variety and quality of the flowers. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anyone to help me. I probably stood outside picking up various bunches of flowers and putting them back down for 10 minutes. So I finally picked 2 and went inside to pay, no one at the register. There were 2 employees standing around talking, but the girl looked up and then completely ignored me.

So I stood at the cash register and waited. I waited some more, and then some more. Finally I was about ready to give up and approached the girl to nicely ask if someone would be able to ring me up. She yelled for her dad (not without rolling her eyes though) and then finally, service!  The dad was extremely helpful in showing me how to arrange my flowers into a pretty bouquet, and he even added a free orchid before tying it all up

I've purchased a few things here before and have been happy with my purchases but it's just not what it appears to be when you get in:(.  But I keep going back to give it chances because I believe in supporting my neighborhood small business.

I live in the neighborhood and I come in often wanting some beautiful flowers, but I never walk away with any.  I do love their window displays and books but once I walk in it's just cold, the woman who works/owns the place never seems to even bat and eye in my direction, I have asked questions but seem to get quick short answer when what I really want is help finding a nice arrangement and some customer service

The store is beautiful and it has wonderful gifts, papers and plants but the customer service is just so poor I walk out and head to church flowers instead, where I get eye contact and a hello. Maybe I should just grow thicker skin and suck it up.

Bell & Trunk Flowers

I've never reviewed a florist, but I had to say a few comlimentary words regarding Bell & Trunk Flowers after having such a great experience.

In need of sending flowers the same day, I tried calling Bell & Trunk a few times throughout the day and finally was able to get in touch with Vanessa around 3:30pm.  With very little direction other than an estimated price point, Vanessa happily agreed to take care of it and deliver the flowers later that evening.  Vanessa called me later to let me know the person was not at home so she would deliver an hour later - I was so appreciative I received an update call.  I mean who does that these days!  As promised, an hour later they were delivered.

I saw pictures of the flowers and they looked so amazing.  The bouqet was tastefully arranged, fresh, and quite sizeable given what I paid for them.  For the price, service, and quality, Bell & Trunk Flowers will definitely be my go to service in SF.

Verde SF

I had to send some flowers for a friends birthday. Yeah, there is 1800 flower you can call, but I want to support local businesses whenever I can.

So I went to yelp, looked for close by flower shops, and found Verde SF. Review after review, people raving about how nice Monica is, and how flower arrangements are, and how compassionate she was with getting flower for some hotel guests, attending a funeral, I couldnt help but fall in love with this little establishment, I just knew through yelp for the first time!

Sure enough I call the phone number on the page, you talk to Monica herself. From the sound of it, (mind you i live in OC, so this entire experience was through phone conversations), Monica is the owner of hte business, and every aspect of this business is her personal character. She was so pleasant to talk to and she made is such an effortless thing to plan for that birthday thing.

An Added Touch Flowers

Carol did the florals for our wedding this year and she absolutely exceeded our expectations.  She was able to make my vision come alive within our budget where everyone else was quoting us exorbitant prices for the exact same thing.  She even went above and beyond her role as a florist to advise me when I was having trouble with one of my vendors at the very last minute and essentially saved the day.

Every floral aspect of our wedding was outstanding.  Our bouquets were gorgeous, even the toss bouquet could have been used as a bridal bouquet!  The reception centerpieces were amazing and transformed our ballroom into a dreamy wonderland.  Even the venue event coordinator had to comment that our wedding reception was the most beautiful she'd ever seen at their location!  The guests were completely floored!  By the end of the night, there wasn't a single centerpiece left...and these were epic 4 ft. manzanita branches.  It's still beyond me how most people fit them in their cars.
